HOW TO COMPETE:

To apply for a local Louisiana Plus America title; applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants for Miss, Ms. and Mrs. categories must be at least 18 years old by Jan 1st.

    • Teens must be at least 13 years old and no older than 18 by Jan 1st.

  • Applicants must:

    • be a legal U.S. citizen.

    • have been born, lived in or owned property in the State of Louisiana or have some affiliation with the State of Louisiana. 

    • have been born a woman.

    • wear a size 14W or greater (Teens size 12 or greater). 

    • have application submitted online or in person or via email.

PRIVATE INTERVIEW

Each contestant participates in an individual interview with our panel of judges.
There are typically 3 to 5 judges on a panel.

 Interview Details:

Contestants will begin the interview with a self-introduction that must not to exceed 30 seconds. The panel will then ask a combination of questions derived from information given on your fact sheet, current events and topics provided by the Executive Director. The interview concludes with a 30-second opportunity for contestants to make a final statement to the judges of “Why you’d like to be Miss Louisiana Plus America.” This is the time to share any information you’d like the judges to know that wasn’t covered in the interview itself.

Interview Attire:  

The attire for the interview is chic/business. You may wear a suit, a combination of a skirt/pants and a blouse, or a dress.  When choosing attire, keep in mind you are interviewing for the position of Miss/Ms/Mrs Louisiana Plus America & ultimately the title of Miss/Ms/Mrs Plus America.

ELEGANT PANTS WEAR COMPETITION

Elegant Pant Wear Competition Attire:

The attire for the elegant pant wear competition is a pant suit or pant wear outfit that would be appropriate if attending a formal dinner at the White House or with members of the U.S. Supreme Court. The look should exude elegance and classiness. Evening pumps or formal sandals are required. (Heels must be worn unless an official doctor’s note is provided.)

EVENING GOWN COMPETITION

Evening Gown Competition Attire:

All gowns for the evening gown competition must be floor length. (It may have a high-low hemline.)

Contestants should also wear foundation. The color should contrast and compliment with your body and skin tone.

ADDITIONAL COMPETITIONS: 

The Covergirl Competition will be held through Facebook via online voting. Winner is featured on the back cover of the TPA Program Book. Headshot submission must include a Photographer's Release.

Cost: $30.00 Entry Fee

 

The Talent Competition is optional and does not affect the overall outcome of the pageant. All performances are limited to two minutes. All content is subject to approval by the Director.

Cost: $30.00 Entry Fee

 

The Fashion Runway Modeling Competition gives participants an opportunity to strut their stuff on the runway.  Outfit of choice provided is by participant and subject to approval by the Creative Director.

Cost: $25.00 Entry Fee

 

The Photogenic Competition requires a Portfolio submission of 4 photos.  Photos may be Color or B/W and bound.  All portfolios will be returned.  Portfolios are judged by a panel of industry professionals.

Cost: $30.00 Entry Fee

The Community Service Award is presented to the delegate who's dedication to her community truly shines through her service.  Participants are required to submit a log of their verifiable community service hours.

Cost: $25.00 Entry Fee
